Full-stack web developer
David
Matos
I build things for the web, and the server they run on.
01 / About
Hi, I'm David.
I'm a full-stack web developer. By day I build a travel site with Angular and Node: server-rendered pages, the APIs behind them and the tests that keep them honest.
I work AI-first. I write the spec, direct the coding agents, and review every change myself before it ships.
How I work
- Analysis before code. I compare the options first, then build the one that wins.
- Why, until the root cause. I'd rather say "I'm lost" than ship a fix I don't understand.
- Write it down. Every project of mine has one guide that could rebuild it from zero.
Every day
- TypeScript
- Angular
- Node.js
- MongoDB
- Redis
Also in my toolbox
- Next.js
- PostgreSQL
- Prisma
- Docker
- Java
- Three.js
02 / Work
My day job
I work on the growth team of an online travel company. Some of what I've done there:
-
A travel site, rendered on the server
Angular SSR so pages load fast and search engines can read them.
-
An editor for marketing pages
Versions, scheduled publishing and safe previews, plus the test suite that guards it.
-
AI in the team's workflow
Specs, quality gates and review skills, so coding agents ship code we can trust.
-
A RAG proof of concept
Two ways to answer questions over documents, compared by cost, speed and quality.
03 / Projects
Built after hours
-
gymapp
An app for gyms: routines, a workout player, classes and payments, for members, coaches and admins.
-
My own cloud
One server that runs everything I make: deploys from GitHub, HTTPS, monitoring and alerts on Telegram.
-
My own AI agent
A self-hosted agent I talk to on Telegram, with one profile for my career and one for me.
-
This room
A 3D scene that turns into a bachata party when you press play.
04 / Life
Away from the keyboard
-
Bachata
Classes and socials. The goal: feel the music instead of counting steps.
-
Anime
One Piece first. Yes, all of it.
-
The gym
Discipline you can measure. It's why I built gymapp.
-
Math for 3D
Learning trigonometry to write my own 3D renderer in a terminal.
-
Philosophy
Existentialism and a daily memento mori.
-
English
Practicing every day. This page is part of the homework.
